Palm Heights, Grand Cayman

We were eager for a sunny escape but wanted to steer clear of the "all inclusive" vibe. As our children grow and start forming memories, we focus on vacations rich in EXPERIENCES. They are still young, so we wanted all the perks of a stunning hotel, yet the freedom to rent a car and explore. We chose to stay at the Palm Heights Boutique Hotel in Grand Cayman, and the entire trip was absolutely breathtaking. From the tropical aesthetic, to the dreamlike turquoise water, we were all excited and amazed. Scroll down to see why!

3PM - Check in time!!

We spent several days just bumming around on the beach. The food, the drinks, and the entire staff were all beyond 5*!

Although the Hotel grounds aren't huge, there were so many little nooks to discover, each more aesthetic and beautiful than the next.

We went on a Stingray and Snorkel excursion with Red Sail, a highly rated company that specializes in providing unforgettable adventures. As someone who has always struggled with seasickness, I typically approach boat trips with a sense of dread and apprehension. But this turned out to be surprisingly fine! The catamaran was big and the gentle rocking of the boat was hardly noticeable, which was a pleasant surprise for me. The crew provided us with refreshments and shared fascinating details about the marine life. We were so excited as we approached the snorkeling site, where vibrant coral reefs and colorful fish were all around. Once we anchored at the snorkeling area, we were equipped with masks, snorkels, and fins. Schools of fish swirled around, and the sight of the stingrays gliding gracefully along the sandy bottom was nothing short of mesmerizing. The experience was not only enjoyable but also educational, as the crew shared interesting facts about the stingrays and their habitat, even including a fishy kiss from these "sea puppies"! Overall, the combination of the smooth sailing on the catamaran, the stunning underwater scenery, and the knowledgeable and friendly crew made for a memorable and exhilarating day on the water for the whole family.

We spent the next several days exploring local beaches

Adjacent to the hotel is Paradise Pizza & Shawarma. We would get takeout pizza and enjoy it at the beach, or even order directly from our beach chairs. Also, they had the best Shawarma I've ever had!

The island is small, and the roads are well-maintained and safe. We rented a car for part of our trip so we could explore some more remote spots on the island, including a beach famous for starfish!

We had an absolute blast, filled with relaxing moments and unforgettable experiences that made some real core memories.

The highlights of our holiday was undoubtedly the all the little and spontaneous moments - playing in the sand, snorkelling for hours in the warm shallow water, swimming with stingrays, eating delicious food, and having laid-back conversations with the friendly locals.
